Perspective workers need to have a caring disposition and enjoy working with people. In addition, the Illinois Department of Labor and the Illinois Department of Public Health require workers to have:
- a complete application*
- a minimum of one year of professional experience
- proper certification
- a strong employment history
- current references
- no criminal convictions

Certification:
Please be aware that certification means a worker has received training and indicates that you have the knowledge required to work in that position. References are letters given to you by people you have worked for stating that you have worked for them and they were happy with your work.
If you have never worked in any of the above fields, The Hope and Help Agency will train you. You will be placed in a suitable position under supervision until you have met the qualification requirements determined by the above Illinois departments and The Hope and Help Agency, Inc.
Applicants seeking child care position must complete a CPR and first-aid training program. For information about how to get CPR certified go to www.CPRAEDCourse.com or call

Applicants seeking adult care positions must also be certified. If you are not certified as a Certified Nurses Aid (C.N.A), you need to complete an annual Non Medical Caregiver Training Course. This certificate can be obtained through our agency or any agency certified by Illinois Department of Public Health. Documents required for an application:
- Driver License or State Identification
- Social Security number (used for a criminal background check only)*
- References from previous employment
- Driving records
- Medical records
*Hope & Help Agency, Inc will perform criminal background checks through State Police for a fee of $25.00. The background check is good for one year.
Fees and Guarantee
Hope & Help Agency Inc. charges a one-time placement fee. This fee is usually equal to two weeks of an employee's salary (less for temporary employment). The placement fee is due upon acceptance of a suitable position. "Acceptance" means a mutual agreement, verbal or written, between worker and the client in regards to a starting salary, position, time, and place of work.
We guarantee all positions for 30 consecutive days. If the worker fails to remain in the position for 30 consecutive days, through no fault of his/her own, we will reduce our fee to 25% of the gross wages paid to the worker. If the fee has been paid, the difference between the full fee paid and 25% of the gross wages will be refunded.
No fee will be refunded after the 30 day period.
If the Applicant accepts the position referred to them by the Hope & Help Agency Inc. and should leave voluntarily or lose the position through his/her own fault, (intoxication, dishonesty, unexcused tardiness, absenteeism, or insubordination), the worker will PAY THE FULL PLACEMENT FEE to the Hope & Help Agency Inc.
